With regards to the forthcoming Armed Forces / Veterans weekend Sat 19th and Sun 20th June, we are looking to organise a scaled down festival for this year.
Within the current guidelines for stage 3, outdoor events can take on a smaller scale, so subject to the National Review on 17th May, the following plans should be able to take place.
On Saturday 19th June we are arranging for a selection of Historic Military Vehicles to be on the Pavilion Forecourt from 1030 till 1530. Vehicle numbers would be less than in previous years and the placement will be made to create a performance area in the middle for the Decedettes and a marching band.
On Sunday 20th June, we cannot have the Service and Parade on the Seafront. However, the 11 a.m. Service will take place in the Nothe Fort, with restricted numbers of veterans and Cadets (registered in advance). Registration will commence mid-May. An email will be sent later. The Service will be live streamed on social media.
In the afternoon, we are planning an Armed Forces Picnic in the Nothe Gardens, with some historic military vehicles and family activities. Bring your own picnic and enjoy the performances in the Gardens from the Decedettes and Weymouth Concert Brass.
