Portland Town Council will be holding an event on Thursday 18^th June 2026 to commemorate the life of Councillor Sandy West.

Sandy was loved and well respected across Portland, which she represented as a Councillor for nearly 25 years, including serving as Mayor on more than one occasion. We hope that you will take this opportunity to share your memories with others that knew her.

“For those wishing to attend the funeral of S/M Jan Evans, it will be on Monday 12th January 2026 at 12.00 at All Saints’ Church, Easton, followed by a private family cremation. Afterwards, all back to the Blues Club.”

Details of the funeral for Alan Cox below.

Alan’s funeral will be held at Weymouth Crematorium, (Quibo lane, Weymouth, DT40RR), on Friday 21st November 2025 at 13:45.

Area and Branch Standards are welcome, (only 2 Standards can be in the building, however it would be good to see as many outside leading the Hearse as possible).

Donations, (if desired), in memory of Alan will be for:
Naval Children’s Charity, Registered Charity Number 11601821
RNLI, Registered Charity Number 209603

There will be collection facilities at the Crematorium or Contact the Funeral Directors, (Abbott and Rees) directly on 01305 766711.

Please advise of intentions to attend so that all numbers can be catered for after the funeral (for light refreshments), at the Weymouth Football Ground, (Bob Lucas Stadium, Radipole Lane, Weymouth, DT49XJ).
