A Memorial dedicated to sailors and fishermen who died serving with the Merchant Navy has been unveiled on the Weymouth seafront. The monument chiselled from Portland stone was revealed in a ceremony on the Esplanade.
Hundreds of people turned out on a cold and windy day in support of the Merchant Navy Association to unveil their new memorial in Weymouth Wednesday 9 Nov 2016. Twenty standards from RNA branches and other associations from throughout the area and well over 100 branch members from a variety of organisations along with many interested on lookers made it a very special occasion indeed.
