At the Branch General Meeting held 2nd of April, we had the pleasure of welcoming Nicky Turrell, a representative from the Island Community Action (ICA) Charity Group. Nicky was presented with a cheque for £800 by our Chairman. S/M Dusty expressed gratitude to Branch Members for their efforts in raising £742 through monthly raffles and other fundraising activities. This amount was generously rounded up to £800 and handed over to Nicky, who extended heartfelt thanks on behalf of the ICA. She shared that the donation could not have come at a better time, as the funding for their older people’s project had just concluded the day before. A big thank you to everyone who contributed to this worthy cause.
Subsequent comment from the ICA reads:
“Thank you to all the members of Portland Royal Navy Association (RNA) for their generous support when they made a donation of £800 towards our ongoing fundraising efforts earlier this week. It was very much appreciated and will be put to good use, helping to subsidise our work with young and older people locally.“
