Proposed Away Weekend 2020, Friday 2nd to Monday 5th October. I have a quote from Daish’s for 3 nights half board at the Daish’s Hotel, Shanklin, Isle of Wight, including return coach travel for £149.00 per person (based on 53 people).
Another group is already booked so we have to pay supplements on some upgraded rooms. 7 single places are available at £10.00 per person supplement. 11 doubles and 12 twin rooms (a total of 9 of which have a supplement) are available. As usual, I’ll divide this cost between all of us. To offset these costs I’ll divide the 3 free places between all of us. This makes the total cost approximately £144.70 per person. I must stress that these costings depend on the full complement of 53.
I will draw lots to see who gets the upgraded rooms.
Hire of the coach for Saturday and Sunday is £300.00 per day, which amounts to about £11.35 per person extra in total. This gives us exclusive use of the coach and we decide where we want to go. Otherwise it’s first come first served for anyone in the hotel at £10.00 per person per day to destinations decided by Daish’s.
This makes the total cost approx £156.00 per person.
I’ve provisionally booked it, but they require a firm booking by 13th January 2020. I need your firm commitment and a non-refundable deposit of £5.00 per person by next month’s meeting so that I can send a deposit cheque to Daish’s. A further payment of £30.00 per person would be required in March and the balance in August 2020. If anyone needs travel insurance, Daish’s costs £12.50 per person.
Please let me know ASAP if you definitely want to go. We have to book early because their group tours fill up very quickly.
