My name is Stephen, I am the Deputy Logistics Officer for HMS PORTLAND.
Firstly hello, trust you and everyone at Portland RNA are well. Currently the ship is in the final stages of a substantial regeneration package and preparing for Anti-Submarine Warfare operations. With a broad range of systems and capability upgrades, HMS PORTLAND will be the most advanced Frigate in the Royal Navy.
Early this year we will be busy preparing for the Ready For Sea Date in March 21 where HMS PORTLAND will finally set sail. Thereafter, we will undertake further trials and navigation training prior to commencing Operational Sea Training in Summer 21. This is an intensive period for the both the ship and the Ship’s Company, which is designed to prepare us for our tasking and front line operations, this time to the North Atlantic.
The Commanding Officer is Commander Tim Leeder who will be in touch in due course.
