On behalf of Jim Armstrong and Roy Dean our Chairman and Secretary of Dorchester RNA we would like to invite your branch members along to a presentation by the National Coastwatch Institution, Portland Bill.
Branch Meeting 12th Oct 22: The speaker will be John Atkinson who is the local Liaison Officer for National Coastwatch (NCI) Portland Bill. The objective of the NCI is to assist in the protection and preservation of “Safety and life at Sea” along the UK coastline. NCI watchkeepers are all volunteers who provide the “Eyes and Ears” along our Portland sea areas and coastal paths monitoring radio, radar (in poor visibility) and Ship Identification systems. They are a registered charity completely dependent on voluntary contributions. When people get into trouble they are there to alert HM Coastguard and emergency services and direct appropriate rescue services to any casualty.
This presentation will be held at the Trinity Club, Trinity Street, Dorchester on 12 Oct 22, commencing at 1930 for 2000.
